American Horror Story Coven

There is nothing I love more than all black outfits, exaggerated hats and thrillers. And after watching American Horror Story Coven I can confirm this is my dream show. Their style is so incredible it makes me wish I was a witch.

Russian fur hats, floaty materials and bow ties, I love how they each have individual looks as well at the same time appearing in unison with their style. Basically an edgier girl group with magic powers.

I suppose it would be hard getting away with a fashion faux par when your supreme and council leaders are Vivienne Westwood and Anna Wintours long lost sisters.

SWIM DEEP

I can't get enough of Swim Deep! This Birmingham born band introduced to me by my friend make soft, trippy, melodic tunes and are great live! Another factor that makes this band so effortlessly cool is that they have great style, Acid washed double denim and everything oversized. Watch their first video for their song King City below and admire not only their fashion but how amazing their music is.

Miles of style

Miles Kane: Incredible Musician. Incredible suits. I dare you to find a fault within his wardrobe. An ode to this Merseyside music maker's instagram: Peace sign poses and his well fitted tailoring will not leave you feeling uninspired to team a striped trouser with a clashing printed shirt.

A true mod king Miles Kane: smartest dressed man ever spotted on a moped, clean cut suit teamed with a polar neck jumper, loafers and sunglasses. This is basically what his wardrobe is truly about.

Keeping it simple and sophisticated in Hamburg with a grey 60's cut collared coat, jeans and smart dress shoes, this has the Nowhere Boy feel of the coolest boy (man) in school standing on the street corner.

If early 60's and late 60's Beatles ever met and had a love child: I believe that this would be it! The bold clashing prints of the skinny trouser and top buttoned shirt is definitely a balanced mix of 'Please, Please me' and the 'Sgt. Peppers' album in the form of an outfit.

The correctly captioned "What a fuckin suit!" via his instagram pretty much sums up what I'd say about it, this is what I'm envious about; a well tailored, leopard print combo! And if I ever bought one it'd have to be surgically removed from my body, I'm that obsessed with it.
There's that famous quote "you are who your friends are" and in this case I'd say it was true. Not only does Miles Kane hold the trophy for who I think is the best dressed male, his band mates are up there claiming the cup with him too. The cool and casual group photo on a park bench has them looking so effortless that I'm struggling to pick the best one.

Along side the technicolored looks Miles Kane works on a daily basis he is also not one to shy away from a monochrome trend either. The strong geometric prints and stripes shown above have got me wondering if Mary Quant is his own personal tailor?

New buys

Just a few new items that I've found myself exchanging money for recently, apologies in advance for the quality of the pictures as I couldn't find my camera anywhere and had to use my iPhone.

This Arctic Monkeys t-shirt arrived today and even though I am not American nor did I attend this tour , I couldn't help but love it when I saw it on their website. Worn with black leather jeans (New Look) and chunky lip shaped necklace (H&M)
I literally cannot say no to a pair of black ankle boots and the thing I admire about a cut out style boot is the fact you can wear them in summer and winter. These beauties are from the lovely Bows & Frills clothing! (Bowsandfrills instagram)
Nothing beats the personal touch of finding something with your name/initial on, thats why I love this dainty jewellery range you can find in TopShop!
Okay, so, technically I didn't buy this myself but it was a late present from my mum that she bought me from the Christmas Stalls in Manchester, this ceramic mexican skull is actually a money box and probably a subliminal message from my mum to start saving.

I am a huge fan of TopShop lipstick, and lipstick in general. All be it they don't last very long and you do have to re-apply frequently the colours are always as pigmented as they look and never make my lips feel dry. Left to right: Screen Siren, Infared and The Damned.

Florence Welch: Style Guru

Collection of Florence and the Machine's, Florence Welch amazing collection of clothes from over the years. including street style, red carpet and festivals.
I'm obsessed with this co-ordinate leopard shorts-suit, dressed down with sunglasses and socks/brogues. The shirt and loose tie go perfect with the summery tailored looked.

I love how Florence can go from a tailored look to having a more grungy style. An oversized jacket and t-shirt combo paired with short skirt and platform heels keep it girlie and who doesn't love a bit of Leo DiCaprio?!

Sunglasses, leather jacket, oversized bag and boots? A classic "I just stepped off a plane but I'm still an ultimate popstar" look.

Florence is amazing at putting together  a sixes inspired masculine cut look,  but with soft waves and floral patterns keeps it feminine. If you're ever looking for cigarette trouser based inspiration, she's the one.

Not only is this songstress known for her quirky tailored style but also her flowing gowns. Finding the right balance between regal and bohemian at this red (purple) carpet event, Florence compliments her fiery hair with a lace, emerald green dress and as always: looks stunning.

Nothing screams 'music festival' more than a fringed biker jacket and John Lennon glasses. However, the pastel tones have turned what would've been a general uniform at Glastonbury to a softer look for the summer, with every girls (mainly mine) dream pink, leather jacket.

As I mentioned before, the queen of the cigarette trouser HAS to be Florence. The embroidery on this jacket is a beautiful contrast to the navy colour blocking. Alongside this, the burgundy accessories of the ballet flats, bag, belt and fedora (and note: the matching lip colour) are the perfect company to this outfit.

Lastly, V Festivals best dressed lady shows us how to mix it up with textures, a suede shirt, leather shorts and vintage patent Mary Jane's are a chic look showing that this cool and effortless style and leopard mini shoulder bag are a summer must!

First Post, how exciting.

I've got a lot of fashion inspiration and nowhere to put it, so I thought the best way to start was with a blog. To be honest; I'm obsessed with buying clothes, mainly coats and boots if I'm being specific. And I'm obsessed with even just looking at them (but obviously the looking thing then leads to me buying them). I thought i'd put my countless hours of internet browsing to use, to justify the time I've spent procrastinating or drooling over Alexa Chung's new Mulberry bag. From now on I can keep them in this little archive for when in desperate need in choosing an outfit. I'll probably just be including things from everywhere, my favourite looks from celebrities, catwalks, what music I'm listening to and stuff I know I shouldn't buy but convince myself are requirements from online shops. I'm looking forward to getting started.

Cheers to the new blog!
